5 Writing input scripts

Input scripts are the most important part of PP3, at least for the user. They contain some sort of wishlist about the map that you want PP3 to create.

• Minimal example: The first four PP3 lines.
• More bells and wistles: How to make it look nicer.
• Dimensions and scale: Set size and magnification of the map.
• Parameters and commands: The two parts of an input script.
• Labels: Changing implicitly created labels.
• Deleting and adding objects: Remove or insert stars and nebulae.
• Penalty scheme: How PP3 avoids overlaps of labels.
